An Introduction

I am an Australian BMX mum who is also a writer. I have been involved in this sport, which has become one of my passions, for nearly thirteen years. I am very involved as a mum; a volunteer and committee member at my local club; and as a volunteer and official at a zone and state level. My husband and I have travelled to many places in Australia and over the world to watch our five children compete.

This blog will include stories about BMX that inspire me. In a way, blog posts can be a writer’s way to capture the beauty and excitement we see in this sport; just like a photograph is the way a photographer captures amazing moments. My posts won’t very often be just about my children; I have a Facebook page to keep those who are interested up to date with our news and results. On this blog, I intend to have stories about local riders and events that I find interesting and inspiring. Life is so much like a BMX race: with its ups and downs, and all the many variables that need to be faced and mastered. We can learn so many life lessons through the amazing experiences along the way.

BMX is an exciting, growing and fast-paced sport. Each consecutive year we are involved in BMX, it just gets busier and crazier but so much more exciting. Next year for our family promises to be full to the brim with Champbikx rounds, Aussie titles and, potentially, world titles in the USA. Along with all the regular club, zone and state excitement.  I hope you will join me on this blogging adventure.

(At this stage, I plan to add a new blog post each Monday.)
